Sacramento, Calif. – The list of endorsements and community support continues to grow for Air Force Sergeant and California’s sixth congressional district Republican nominee Tamika Hamilton.

Citrus Heights Councilmember Jeannie Bruins, who has represented her community for nearly 20 years, announced that she has endorsed Hamilton.

"We are at an important time in our country," said Councilwoman Bruins. "We need to make sure we send members to Washington who don’t have a personal agenda, but represent the values of our community.

"Tamika Hamilton is exactly the type of person we need to elect on Nov. 8 and I’m proud to add my endorsement to her growing list," Bruins continued. "I also look forward to working with Tamika in addressing the pressing issues that are crushing our constituents like gas prices, inflation, crime and education."

In addition to serving on the Citrus Heights City Council, Bruins has been selected to represent the community as mayor in 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2019. She is a 38-year resident of Citrus Heights and was a member of the Rotary Club of Citrus Heights for 23 years. She is a charter member and Vice President of the Police Activities League, and served as CEO of the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce for 12 years from 1993 – 2005. She is also a member of Sunrise Community Church where she sings in the choir and the concert ensemble.

"I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Councilwoman Bruins,” Hamilton said. “I look forward to working with her on the issues that are important to all of us."
