Sacramento, Calif. – Candidate for California’s sixth congressional district Tamika Hamilton today announced the endorsement of Folsom-Cordova School Board Vice President and candidate for State Assembly Joshua Hoover.
“Tamika’s life experience as a working mother and someone who is involved in the local education community is very impressive,” said Hoover. “She’ll make an excellent representative and will fight hard in Washington for equal and quality access to education for all students.”
Hoover is a longtime Folsom resident who was elected to the Folsom-Cordova School Board in 2018. During his term on the Board, Hoover has worked to balance the district budget, protect taxpayers, expand mental health services, and improve student achievement. He also serves as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, where he advises on statewide education policy and other important legislative issues.
“Joshua showed tremendous leadership by fighting hard to keep our schools open to protect vulnerable students and communities,” said Hamilton. “He’s been on the front lines of education reform for many years and is a well-respected leader. It’s great to have his support.”
