Sacramento, Calif. – Tamika Hamilton today announced her campaign has received the endorsement of Robla School Board Member Nuvia Cardona.
"She is not interested in being just another politician," said Cardona. “We have long referred to our community as 'The Robla Family'. And Tamika has demonstrated that family is a priority for her and that she will fight for our family. That’s why I am supporting her."
Since 2014, Nuvia has served as a member of the Robla School District Board of Trustees, one of Sacramento’s highest performing school districts. Her focus as a school board trustee has been to ensure fiscal accountability, sound administrative practices, and invest in technology upgrades to prepare students for jobs of the future.
Cardona, who immigrated to the US from Panama was also a long time small business owner. She and her husband Frank opened the first Coffee Break Cafe location in Carmichael in 2005, then relocated to its most recent home in 2009.
"Nuvia is a living embodiment of the American Dream," said Hamilton. “A hard working, self-made woman and entrepreneur who is serving her community. I’m grateful for her support."
